Come on out to try Ringette!
What is Ringette? It is not hockey for girls! It has different rules, different equipment, different skills, and it is open to all genders. Ringette is a fast-paced non-contact team sport on ice in which players use a straight stick to pass, carry and shoot a rubber ring to score goals. Ringette is a wonderful game for building strength, fitness and confidence.
The Comox Valley Ringette Association offers a FREE chance to come and try the sport.
Come Try Ringette - SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 10TH, 11AM TO NOON at Sports Center #2
Be sure to come early to gear up. Boys, girls and all genders aged 5 to 105 years old who would like to try this fun and exciting new sport on ice are invited to come out. Women are also welcome to come and try as we have an open and master's team you can join. We are encouraging adults to come out and try as we have an active Masters program.
This is a free event. Just bring warm clothes, a helmet, a pair of mitts or gloves and enthusiasm! Skate rental is free, sticks will be provided and there are a limited number of helmets available for those who do not have their own. Full gear is recommended but not essential for this event. Kids just enjoy it more when it doesn't hurt to fall. Parents and guardians must be in attendance and will be provided plenty of information about Ringette and the Comox Valley Youth Program.
You can just show up on the day or contact us to RSVP. The Comox Valley’s Youth Ringette Program runs from mid September to mid March. Under the direction of Ringette Canada Certified coaches, participants have weekly ice times on Tuesdays, Saturdays or Sundays. In addition to skill development, youth participants will have the opportunity to host and /or travel to play games against other teams throughout the season. Registration is ongoing and it is never too late to join in the fun!
