New for 2024/2025 Season: Volunteer Bond
Many of our members are unaware of how much volunteer work is necessary to operate a quality Ringette program. The Volunteer Bond was introduced to encourage members to help. The time commitment is reasonable, and the help ensures the work load is spread between everyone! As an association, we require many volunteer hours to ensure we continue to thrive and offer an amazingly supportive environment for all our players, coaches, and parents. We ask each family to contribute and do their part.
The Association requires a commitment to the volunteer bond policy from families of players in u10 and up at the time of registration.
Eligible volunteer activities will include:

The Association requires a commitment to the volunteer bond policy from families of players in u10 and up at the time of registration.
- Families with their oldest registered player in FUNs will be exempt from a minimum requirement for volunteering.
- Each family with their oldest registered player in u12 or above will volunteer at least 6 hours over the course of the season or pay $100 to the Association in lieu of completing their volunteer hours.
- Each family with their oldest registered player in u10 will volunteer at least 3 hours over the course of the season or pay $50 to the Association in lieu of completing their volunteer hours.
- It will be the responsibility of Team managers or volunteer managers to track whether families have fulfilled their commitments.
- Bond payment is not required at the time of registration, given that most families will find volunteer roles in the first few months of the season, but families who wish to pay immediately at the start of the season may do so.
- By the end of November, families who have not yet volunteered for 6 or more hours will either:
Provide a post-dated cheque for $100 to the Treasurer before the end of the year if they haven’t yet volunteered 6 or more hours, but still plan to, or make a payment of $100 to the Association if they are certain they will not volunteer 6 or more hours. - The Treasurer will assist in following up families for cheques and/or payments.
- The Association’s December holiday party will be an opportunity to celebrate those who have volunteered, engage families who haven’t volunteered yet in planning and supporting the party, and to remind families to provide their post-dated cheques or pay the bond in full.
- Early withdrawal: If all of a family’s players withdraw before the end of the calendar year they may be eligible for a refund of $50 of a bond amount already paid, or a $50 reduction in the amount owing, if they have not volunteered 6 or more hours.
Eligible volunteer activities will include:
